How consent works
Sharing starts with the person whose location is shared
Each participant must join NearUs, approve the relevant connection and grant location permission on their own device. They can pause sharing, revoke permission or remove a connection at any time.
1. Connect
Invite a trusted contact
A phone number may be used to prepare an invitation or identify a contact. It does not provide a location.
2. Approve
The other person opts in
Location becomes available only after the participant approves sharing and enables device permission.
3. Control
Consent remains reversible
Participants control their connections and can stop sharing through the app or device settings.
Places and alerts
Create useful places and receive arrival or departure notifications for opted-in connections.
Chat and connection tools
Message trusted contacts, search conversations and manage connections from one app.
